| Job Description | UX - Member of Technical Staff – vCloud Automation Center – Virtualization & Cloud Management VMware vCloud Automation Center (vCAC) allows customers to rapidly deploy and provision cloud services across private and public clouds, on a variety of physical infrastructure, and hypervisors. vCAC allows authorized users access to standardized IT services through a secure self-service portal, acting as a service governor and helping enforce business and IT policies throughout the service lifecycle. The VMware Cloud Automation Center (VCAC) team is looking for a senior UX Engineer to drive the evolution of the next generation user interfaces of VMware's hybrid cloud management solutions. You will work with the VCAC product management and engineering teams to translate the design vision into high-quality, responsive user interfaces that delight customers. More information on VCAC available at http://www.vmware.com/products/vcloud-automation-center/ Responsibilities: - Design and develop user interfaces for the next generation of the VCAC product - Interact with product managers to understand customer requirements and use cases, to translate them into user interfaces - Work closely with engineering managers and senior developers on the team to steer the implementation of user interfaces for web and mobile platforms - Collaborate with UX designers working on other VMware products to produce a cohesive user experience across the product suite - Demonstrate periodic progress to senior management and C-level executives at VMware Requirements: - 6+ years of user interface design for web applications - 4+ years of experience designing user interfaces for enterprise products - Experience with systems management products a plus - Must be able to produce a design portfolio that highlights recent work - Must be at an expert level with modern HTML and CSS standards, with experience in designing user interfaces that work on all the major browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) - Experience with mobile user interface design highly desired - Strong oral and written communication skills - Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team - Prior experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred |
